School Road to Buckley's

 

This 2-3 hour trip starts with a brief orientation and short shuttle ride to the School Road Bridge. From there you will paddle down the scenic Chippewa ending at Buckley's. This trip can start as late as 5:30 pm weekdays and 6:30 pm weekends.

River Road to Buckley's

 

This 1-2 hour trip starts with a brief orientation and short shuttle ride to the River Road Bridge. From there you will paddle down the scenic Chippewa ending at Buckley's. This trip can start as late as 5:30 pm weekdays and 6:30 pm weekends.

Buckley's to Deerfield

 

This 3-4 hour trip starts with a brief orientation. You will start at Buckley's and from there you will paddle down the scenic Chippewa ending at Deerfield Park where a shuttle will transport you back. This trip can start as late as 2 pm weekdays and 3 pm weekends.

This 4-5 hour trip starts with a brief orientation. You will start at Buckley's and from there you will paddle down the scenic Chippewa ending at Meridian Park where a shuttle will transport you back to Buckley's. This trip can start as late as 1 pm weekdays and 2 pm weekends.

School Road to Deerfield

 

This 6-7 hour trip starts with a brief orientation. We will then shuttle you to School Road Bridge. From there you will paddle down the scenic Chippewa, past Buckley’s, and then end at Deerfield Park where a shuttle will transport you back to Buckley's. This trip can start as late as 11 am weekdays and 12 pm weekends.

Overnights

Overnight trips are available by reserving a campsite with Deerfield Nature Park . Deerfield's Beaver Lodge Campground is a primitive camp site only accessible by the river or a one mile hike. It is a great option for a peaceful getaway close to town. You have the option of a 1-5 hour float the first day and a 30 minute easy out to a 3 hour second day. Buckley's is located 8 miles west of Mt. Pleasant Michigan close to Central Michigan University and the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe's Soaring Eagle Casino.

 

Camping

Deerfield Park's Beaverlodge Campground, only accessible by a mile hike or the river. Our relaxing overnight trips stop here reservations through Isabella County Parks

Also make reservations through them for Coldwater and Herrick Parks, available with more amenities.

 

Gammy Woods Campground is Central Michigan's best kept secret, located very close to Buckley's on Coldwater Road.

 

Blue Gill Lake Family Camping Resort in Mecosta County, great fishing borders 2080 acre Martiny Chain of Lakes

 

Camping near The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, about 20 minutes from Buckley's is available at Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Campground

 

Boy and Girl Scout Troops and other youth organizations can camp on the river off of Vandecar Road at Camp Weidman. Information available by contacting Pam and Ford Dingman at campweidman@hotmail.com
